Mexican wrestling legend Rey Mysterio departed this life on 20th December 2024, the news first confirmed by his son, El Hijo Rey Misterio through a Facebook post. He posted a statement on Facebook in Spanish about the death of his father. The real cause of the death has not been announced yet. The real name of Mysterio is Miguel Angel Lopez Dias who started his wrestling career in 1976 and officially retired from wrestling in 2009. Mysterio was a pioneer in the Lucha Libre Community and was the uncle of WWE Hall of Famer. At the age of 66, The Mexican legend passed away.

Initially, Mysterio worked in ECW and WCW but in 2002 when he joined WWE, the name Mysterio was known to all.
