Yonkers, NY – Tuesday, Congressman Jamaal Bowman released a new campaign video for his re-election bid. In the video, he lays out his vision for a fair and prosperous NY-16, and discusses the work he has been doing for the district in his first term in Congress. Congressman Bowman discusses the millions he brought back home to the district and his work fighting for abortion rights and democracy.
In the video, Congressman Bowman says: “Let’s talk about a vision for NY-16. A vision where women will always have access to the reproductive healthcare they need, where everyone has access to truly affordable housing. A vision where massive flooding doesn’t occur after every rain storm, and where our energy is completely clean and publicly owned. A vision where everyone is given the opportunity to thrive in our society and where not a single person dies senselessly to gun violence.”
Rep. Bowman’s video can be viewed here.
Congressman Bowman continues: “We have been working on this vision since I’ve gotten into office. By showing up during the most difficult times to support our neighbors. By passing legislation condemning white supremacy, increasing funding for mental health assistance, and investing in our children. We brought hundreds of millions of dollars to the district to stop flooding, reduce violence, and improve programming for our seniors. We are responding to high inflation by introducing common sense legislation to bring down costs and ensuring that large corporations pay their fair share. We co-sponsored the Women’s Health Protection Act, fought for women’s rights, and we have protested and even gotten arrested in the fight to save our democracy.”
With just over a month left before the August 23 primary, Congressman Bowman’s re-election campaign is in the final stretch. Over the coming month, the congressman will continue traveling across NY-16, and to new towns that have been added to the district due to redistricting, to talk with voters about his work in Congress, and his vision and plan for the district.
