Rapper Nakkia Gold will be helping the Social Justice Learning Institute (SJLI), the nation’s leading nonprofit organization at the forefront of the social justice and equity movement since 2008, celebrate its annual Justice Fest this weekend on July 17th at 5:30pm PST.
The hybrid virtual event will be held in-person at the historic Miracle Theatre in Inglewood with a live performance from acclaimed rapper Nakkia Gold, whose single “Justice,” feat. Whiz Khalifa and Bob Marley and the Wailers, made its debut on GMA, and the music sensation has appeared on numerous national outlets. Nakkia, who was raised by a single mother in South Central L.A., overcame numerous hardships including homelessness before being discovered by mogul Haim Saban’s record label.
The event incorporates both entertainment and social justice to engage community members in a fun and educational celebration. In observance of COVID safety protocols, a limited number of guests will attend the in-person event and performance, while anyone is welcome to join via livestream to enjoy the event. An exclusive meet-and-greet after the performance will allow select VIP guests to talk with Nakkia Gold.
As part of the livestream, the event will also feature online community workshops, a virtual photo booth, an art gallery, and interactive games designed to engage the community.
