The People’s Organization For Progress (POP) will have a rally today in response to the verdict in the George Floyd murder trial and to demand an end to police brutality and justice for its victims.
The rally will take place today, Wednesday, April 21, 2021, 4:00pm, at the Lincoln Statue, 12 Springfield Avenue, Newark, NJ. The statue is at the intersection of Springfield Avenue and West Market Street.
“The jury is to be commended for finding Derek Chauvin guilty on all counts. This was a victory in the battle for justice for George Floyd. However, the struggle to fundamentally change the racist and repressive nature of policing in America continues,” stated Lawrence Hamm, Chairman, People’s Organization For Progress.
