POLICE INVESTIGATE MOTIVE BEHIND SHOOTING OF RISING BROOKLYN RAPPER IN QUEENS

An aspiring rap artist known as “Hollywood Play” was gunned down in front of the Tavern lounge in Queens, where he was hosting a birthday party early Sunday morning, police said.

Frank Snyder, 35, of Bedstuy Brooklyn was shot once in the neck and once in the leg at the popular lounge located on Jamaica Avenue near 97th Street in Woodhaven. The shooting erupted around  3:15 a.m.

According to the police, an unidentified gunman pulled up in a black vehicle, got out, and began firing toward the lounge. No one else was reported injured at the scene.

Police weren’t clear if Snyder was the intended target, but a patron at the bar and witnesses claimed that the shooter seemed to be aiming for Snyder.

Snyder was later rushed to Jamaica Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The investigation is ongoing.
