[PBA and Donald Trump]

The Police Benevolent Association’s (PBA) endorsement of the most corrupt criminal presidency in American history is very telling.
With this endorsement, the PBA is making it plain that they are just as deceitfully dishonest and lawless as Donald Trump. The PBA’s power needs to be neutralized.
We must now dedicate ourselves to breaking the back of this vile depraved police union.
At an event at Trump’s New Jersey golf course, the PBA’s foul-mouth mouthpiece Pat Lynch said:
“I have 36 years on this job, 21 as the president of this fine organization. I cannot remember when we’ve ever endorsed for Office of the President of the United States, until now. That’s how important this is. Many times, people say that a union like ours, law enforcement groups, give endorsements. Not in the New York City PBA, sir. In the New York City PBA, Mr. President, you earn the endorsement and you’ve earned this endorsement. I’m proud to give it.”
This statement illustrates just how unethical and immoral this PBA is. Far from being “benevolent,” these folks are again showing us just how malevolent they are.
First, Lynch—his name doesn’t help the situation either—says this is the first time the PBA has endorsed a president. This, in itself, is very revealing. They have decided that the most racist, sexist, lawless, president ever is worthy of the first endorsement in their union’s history? Is seems obvious Trump’s odious conduct made him “earn the endorsement.”
But we should really focus on Lynch’s “that’s how important this is” comment. What is he really saying here?
In the wake of George Floyd’s murder by racist American policing, as well as the recent murders of Rayshard Brooks, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery, a multi-racial, multi-generational mass of Americans, not just Black people, took to the streets in a powerful show of people power.
These everyday Americans rocked the foundations of American society—and politics. It has shaken up and scared the elites. The message was sent that: we the people have had quite enough of racist murderous policing and intend to stop it in our time, after centuries of this ongoing scourge.
The outpouring of people protests has overwhelmed the political and policing powers that be. This mass uprising by the people captured the imagination of the downtrodden many. It has now morphed into a global phenomenon.
Moreover, despite diminishing mainstream media coverage, the protests in the streets continue.
In a relatively short time, politicians, especially those do-nothings in Congress, were forced to start addressing the crisis of racist police murder against Blacks. We went from almost complete silence on this issue to politicians deliberating everything on policing. Even the overturning of the crooked concept of qualified immunity is now squarely on the table for debate.
Because of the vociferous voices of the people, the movement for changing racial policing is underway. This is very upsetting to the large body of white racists in policing—especially, those who have a chokehold on the leadership of policing. These folks have been very comfortable brutalizing and murdering Black people since the beginning of American policing and are mad the wheels of accountability are starting to turn against them.
The PBA’s Trump endorsement is basically a call to make racist police brutality and murder acceptable again, as it always has been. These thugs are seeking protection from Trump to stop the forward movement toward true police accountability and transparency. Birds of a feather flock together. So, it shouldn’t surprise us that these PBA bullies like Trump.
Trump loved the PBA’s endorsement and basked in it. New Yorkers should be aware that Trump may now strategize with these PBA hoodlums to try and do similar things as was done in Portland, where federal agents were used as secret police to target protesters and activists.
In his remarks, Trump said, “I’ve admired you my whole life, watched you do a job like nobody else, nobody else done it. Best of the best and I’m grateful happy you’re here.” Trump used the opportunity to attack former Vice President Joe Biden, saying, “This guy has been taking your dignity away and your respect. And I’m telling you on Nov. 3 you’re going to be getting it back.”
This marriage by the PBA and Trump should not surprise us. Both are lawless.
That charge may seem hyperbolic. After all, the PBA is, supposedly, a “law enforcement” union. But Americans must come to terms with the fact that the institution of American policing has always existed as a violent, criminal, terrorist organization—when it comes to their relationship with Black people.
We all know Donald Trump is a lawless president.
His crimes and corrupt acts since he took office are too numerous to mention here. They include: several violations of the Emoluments Clause, numerous instances of witness intimidation, impeding the Russia investigation, engaging in obstruction of Congress, unjustly firing former FBI Director Jim Comey over his supposed disloyalty, and ordering White House Counsel Don McGahn to create a false record regarding the Ukraine extortion and bribery scandal.
The hypocritical Republican Party which used to lecture us about “country before party” aided-and-abetted Trump in evading justice, in the impeachment inquiry, for his extortion of Ukraine to get manufactured dirt on Joe Biden so he could win the upcoming election. All of the existing evidence makes it clear Trump was guiltier than sin.
Trump has now brazenly admitted he is sabotaging and defunding the United States Postal Service so he can steal the November election.
But Americans need to admit this: American policing often perpetrates similar acts of lawlessness and misconduct like their champion Trump.
For example, lately, even the white corporate media has had to report about certain recent cases where police told glaring lies. But the frequency of police lies equal that of Trump’s lies—especially, regarding the brutal bigoted acts of their killer-cops. Police routinely release press releases where they tell barefaced lies to conceal criminal conduct by cops. This is the culture of American policing and their “Blue Wall of Silence.”
Police bullying has been fully on display since the protests after George Floyd’s murder. We’ve seen police beat up women, children, and shove old people to the ground. We’ve seen them fire teargas and pepper-spray on peaceful protesters and media reporters. In fact, they targeted some media workers in an obvious attempt to conceal their criminal acts against peaceful protesters by disrupting coverage.
In endorsing Trump, the PBA no doubt liked his actions in Washington D.C., and in Portland, where he used federal agents to attacks peaceful protesters. After all, these protests erupted because of the racist police murders against Black people.
Therefore, they see Trump as acting on their behalf. They are now returning the favor with this endorsement.
The PBA’s endorsement of Trump highlights that: much more work must be done to force change upon the leadership of American policing. Another tactic we must now fully institute is: identifying and pressuring business interests, who unequivocally support the PBA, into speaking up and forcing change on these contemptible cop leaders.
We must not allow the police to wait us out and go back to their business as usual situation of brutalizing Black people.
Trump and the PBA are both rancidly racist. Both entities must be flushed down the toilets into the sewer of history where they belong.
