Mark Raymond Jr. was an eager, energetic, and athletic 27-year-old when his life changed in a blink of an eye.

He was enjoying time out on the water with friends when he dove off his friend’s boat. Mark wasn’t aware of the water depth, and he jumped headfirst into shallow water. He broke his neck, which resulted in him becoming a C-5 quadriplegic.

That split-second decision left Mark in a wheelchair and he has now dedicated his life to helping other people with disabilities through his non-profit Split-Second Foundation.

Through the foundation, Mark was able to open the first inclusive gym in Louisiana, Split Second Fitness. Mark is actively raising money to open more gyms across the country to help positively impact the 61 million people living with a disability in the US.
