What Is NYT Connections?
Connections is a word-association game launched by the New York Times where you’re presented with a grid of 16 words. Your task is to divide them into four groups of four, with each group sharing a common thread. The trick? Many of the words seem like they could go together, but only one set is truly correct.
Each group has a color difficulty level:
- Yellow: Easy
- Green: Medium
- Blue: Hard
- Purple: Most Difficult
You’re allowed four wrong guesses, so choose wisely. One wrong connection can send your brain into a tailspin, but rearranging or shuffling the words might help spot hidden links.

Final Thoughts
Today’s puzzle wasn’t the toughest Connections we’ve seen lately, but that purple set may have tripped up a few players. “CHAIR” and “TABLE” could easily lure you into thinking furniture was involved, while “HEAVY” and “RADICAL” might’ve sent your brain into completely different directions. That’s the beauty (and frustration) of Connections: the misdirection is half the fun.
If you didn’t guess all four sets correctly today, don’t sweat it. You’ll get a fresh puzzle tomorrow and another chance to prove your mental mettle. And of course, we’ll be back with more hints and solutions right here.
