Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. released the following statement regarding New York State Pilot Program which will expand healthcare and testing to NYCHA residents.
Diaz Jr. said: “We must work to ensure New York City’s public housing tenants receive equitable health care services, especially during a pandemic which has had disproportionate consequences for the Bronx.”
“I want to thank Governor Andrew Cuomo, New York State Attorney General Letitia James, U.S. Congressman Gregory Meeks, U.S. Congressman Hakeem Jeffries, and New York State Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie for creating this important partnership that will provide vital medical and services information, as well access to COVID-19 diagnostic testing to our most vulnerable communities.”
