The People’s Organization For Progress (POP) will have a press conference to announce support for U.S. Senator Raphael Warnock on Saturday, December 3, 2022, 12:00 noon at the Martin Luther King Statue outside the Essex County Martin Luther King Jr Justice Building, 495 Dr Martin Luther King Jr Blvd in Newark, NJ.

Senator Warnock, the first African-American U.S. Senator from Georgia, is in a hotly contested runoff election for the U.S. Senate against Herschel Walker in that state.

“The U.S. Senate race is not only important for the people of Georgia. It is important for the people of New Jersey, New York, and every state in this country,” Lawrence Hamm, Chairman, People’s Organization For Progress, stated.

“Every senator legislates for the country as a whole. This is why his race is important for us who do not live in Georgia, and why we must have the most qualified person in that office,” Hamm said.

“POP believes Senator Warnock to be the most qualified candidate and best suited for the job. We endorse his candidacy and urge people inside and outside of Georgia to do everything necessary to make possible his re-election,” he said.
