Watch out, Beats by Dre. There’s a new pair of stylish (and more affordable) headphones taking over. The Hybernation 5/Hybrid Headphones by KenichiBear deliver a high-quality, comfortable listening experience and not to mention, a sleek and cute design. KenichiBear is the brainchild of 17-year-old entrepreneur Kardan Kenichi Chatmon.

Chatmon started the business at the young age of 13 after his father gave him an assignment: learn how to start a business. Chatmon spent the next two years in development and has been running KenichiBear since he was 15.

“He wanted me to know everything about running a business from A to Z, and as I was learning, I decided I wanted to start my own business,” Chatmon explained.

The Hybernation 5 / Hybrid Headphones are compatible with any Bluetooth-capable device and feature real surround sound, a special bass mode for music, an adjustable and detachable noise-canceling microphone, soft ear cushions, a wide head beam design, and LED lights on each side that change the color of the logo.

The KenichiBear logo is based on a drawing from Chatmon’s childhood – a bear with x’s on its eyes. As Chatmon developed the business, he decided to hire a graphic designer to enhance the drawing to the logo we see today.

Although Chatmon’s father is the reason for starting the business, KenichiBear is 100% designed, owned, and operated by Chatmon. He is proud of what he has established with his brand in only two years and hopes to see it grow in the future.
