Leaders representing a coalition of 55 organizations across a broad spectrum of New York’s economy and civic life will rally online today to advance the MTA’s call for an additional $3.9 billion to rescue public transit service and maintain operations for the remainder of 2020.

The rally will be available on Zoom today (Thursday, April 30, 2020) starting at 12 noon. (RSVP to Lauren Tsuboyama for log-in information)

The rally comes a week after the coalition wrote to Congress with its funding request.

U.S. Rep. Adriano Espaillat will call on Congressional leaders to provide the MTA with its requested $3.9 billion in federal transit aid to recover from the disaster caused by COVID-19.

Rep. Espaillat, REBNY President Jim Whelan, Building Congress President Carlo Scissura, and leading labor, immigration, and transit advocates will be among those present.

They will be joined by top New York business, civic leaders, and business groups.
