Noticias Telemundo won two News and Documentary Emmy® Awards in the categories of Outstanding Newscast or Newsmagazine in Spanish and Outstanding Coverage of a Breaking News Story in Spanish for “Noticias Telemundo Mediodía” (Telemundo News at Noon) and “Emergencia en la Frontera” (Border Emergency), respectively.

“Noticias Telemundo Mediodía,” a leading national noon newscast in Spanish-language anchored by Felicidad Aveleyra, provides the very latest on the day’s top stories, going beyond the headlines to add context and analysis to the most pressing issues of our time. The newscast was launched in January of 2018 and airs Mondays to Fridays at 12:30 pm/11:30 am c.

“Emergencia en la Frontera” (Border Emergency) features Noticias Telemundo’s breaking news coverage of the massive exodus of Central American immigrants to the U.S. border in organized caravans, one of last year’s most important stories.

In addition, the documentary “Hidden Cost: Our Laws Have Not Kept Up with the Climate,” a coproduction by Noticias Telemundo and The Weather Channel was awarded a News and Documentary Emmy® Award in the category of Outstanding Business, Consumer or Economy Report. The piece explores the effects of climate change on children who work outdoors in the United States and debunks the myth of the family farm as the place where most children in agriculture labor.
