Wednesday, Assembly Members Kenny Burgos (AD-85) and Chantel Jackson (AD-79) announced their endorsement of Assemblywoman Nathalia Fernández’s historic campaign for Bronx Borough President.
“Nathalia has brought fresh, bold leadership to Albany, and I know she will do the same here in the Bronx. That’s why I’m proud to support her historic campaign for Bronx Borough President,” said Assembly Member Kenny Burgos. “As we recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, Nathalia will be the leader we need to revitalize our small businesses, build affordable housing that is actually affordable for Bronxites, and bring good paying jobs to our communities by investing in green infrastructure and renewable energies. I’m excited to support the first Latina Borough President and partner with her as we write the next chapter for the Bronx.”
Assemblywoman Nathalia Fernández has fought hard to unify the borough and help working families get ahead. As borough president, she will seek environmental justice, improve transportation access, prioritize the development of affordable housing, and ensure fair rezoning.
“Nathalia is the uncompromised leader The Bronx needs. She supported me early in my campaign because she believed that I was the right person to represent my district. She will be a fierce advocate for marginalized communities and will work to ensure our borough prospers in a way that benefits us all. I am proud to endorse her campaign and look forward to working with her as she becomes the first woman to lead The Bronx,” said Assembly Member Chantel Jackson.
“I am honored to have the support of my colleagues, who have spent their lives serving, uplifting, and empowering hardworking Bronxites,” said Assemblywoman Nathalia Fernández. “This is a pivotal time for our community to think in new ways to usher in the next chapter of the Bronx. Together, we will deliver on a bold, innovative vision to revitalize our borough and write the next chapter of its legacy. Bringing an unmatchable leadership team to New York City.”
Assemblywoman Fernández has also received the endorsement of former Assembly Member Michael Blake.
If elected, Nathalia would be the first woman to be elected Bronx Borough President and the first Latina to hold borough-wide office in New York City history.
