New York, NY (March 30, 2026) – Former Vice President Kamala Harris will join Rev. Al Sharpton, Founder and President of the National Action Network (NAN), for a fireside chat on Thursday, April 9th at the 2026 NAN Annual Convention. The conversation will take place from 11:45 AM to 12:45 PM in the Metropolitan East Ballroom at the Sheraton New York Times Square.

Vice President Harris made history as the first Black and South Asian woman to serve as Vice President of the United States. Throughout her career in public service, as District Attorney of San Francisco, Attorney General of California, U.S. Senator, and Vice President, Harris has been a consistent and forceful advocate for civil rights, voting rights, reproductive freedom, and economic opportunity for all Americans.
Her appearance at NAN’s convention marks a significant moment, bringing one of the most prominent voices in American public life into direct conversation with the civil rights community at a time of mounting challenges to democratic norms and racial equity. The fireside chat format will allow for a candid, in-depth exchange between Vice President Harris and Rev. Sharpton on the state of the movement, the road ahead, and the stakes facing Black America.
The conversation opens a landmark morning at NAN’s historic 35th Annual Convention, which has already convened the nation’s top labor leaders, leading journalists, and families of victims of racial injustice, and which continues to draw the most consequential voices in American civil rights, politics, and culture to New York City.
