On Thursday June 20th 2013 at 1 pm, dozens of youth leaders, community activists and some elected officials will endorse the 15th year anniversary of the Million Youth March. The Mass Rally, March and Anniversary will take place on the Harlem State Office Building Plaza Grounds.
This Is Located on 125th Street at Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard, In Historic Harlem, New York. The Mass Rally and Anniversary will feature mainly youth speakers, new leaders, national activists, entertainers as well as performers. The Mass Rally and March will be the highlight of the National Black Family Convention which is Sept 5, 6, 7, and 8, 2013 in Harlem NY.
The Million Youth March originally took place on Malcolm X Blvd (Lennox) in 1998 and was the subject of great controversy. The 1998 March was convened by the legendary Dr. Khallid Muhammad and was attended by over 30,000 people before a controversial ending and clash with the New York Police department under the leadership of the former Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
The 15th Year Anniversary Commemoration, on Saturday September 7th, is being convened by the youth director of the 1998 March and Confidant of Dr Khallid Muhammad, Attorney Malik Zulu Shabazz. Shabazz is the founder of Black Lawyers For Justice and the Chairman of the New Black Panther Party.
The New Black Panther Party, African International Merchants Agency, Black Lawyers For Justice, Saving Our Youth and 100 local and National organizations will be supporting this great effort aimed at improving our youth. The June 20 News conference will be attended by youth from in and around New York, Students of Independent Schools, Education Activists, police issue activists, anti-violence activists and many community leaders who are endorsing the platform of the Million Youth March.
The Million Youth March 15th year anniversary speakers and performers will focus on self-pride, stopping violence, opposing “Stop and Frisk”, better education, stopping school closures, Black Economics and Improving the Black Family.
A Major Vendor’s Fair will accompany the March and will feature 100 vendors and it’s titled “BLACK WALL STREET” in memory of the tragic events of Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1921.
The Million Youth March will restore Black Pride to Harlem and show the world the problems amongst Black Youth are not hopeless, we will show that the Black Family can pull together and rise to the top.
