ATLANTA, GA — Milton J. Lofton today announced his write-in candidacy for Governor of Georgia, calling on citizens across the state to reject politics as usual and join a movement rooted in integrity, compassion, and shared opportunity.
“Together, we can build a stronger Georgia,” Lofton said in announcing his campaign, “where every person — regardless of race, background, or belief — has the opportunity to succeed. I’m fighting for freedom, justice, and equality for all Americans, starting right here at home in Georgia.”
Lofton’s platform centers on five pillars: economic opportunity, public safety and justice, education for all, health and wellness, and unity and respect. He has pledged to create jobs and support small businesses to grow the state’s economy, invest in Georgia’s classrooms and children, expand access to quality healthcare for every Georgian, and champion fair, effective, and accountable community leadership. Above all, he says, his campaign is about bringing people together.
“Leading with integrity. Serving with compassion.” That is the standard Lofton says he will hold himself to if elected — a promise to put people before politics at every turn.
The campaign’s message is unambiguous: this is a call to action, not a coronation. “Stand up. Speak out. Make a change,” reads the campaign’s rallying cry, urging Georgians who feel unheard by the political establishment to write in Milton J. Lofton for Governor.
“Your vote. Our future. Stronger together,” Lofton said. “This isn’t about one candidate — it’s about every Georgian who believes we can do better. Make your voice heard. Vote for change.”
Lofton’s campaign has also embraced the phrase “God up, guns down” as a broader statement of values — one that pairs a commitment to faith and community with a call for greater public safety.
As a write-in candidate, Lofton faces long odds against established, ballot-listed opponents. But his campaign argues that democracy depends on citizens willing to demand more from their leaders, even when the path is difficult.
“Georgia’s future shouldn’t be decided by politics as usual,” Lofton said. “It should be decided by the people — together.”
