Ty Hodges isn’t new to Hollywood. Ty started acting at the age of 11, first in theater, and then in television and film.

At 16, he dreamt of going to Hollywood to follow his dreams. His parents supported him on this journey and gave him one month to book a job. A week before he had to return back to Miami, FL, he landed the starring role in Janet Jackson’s video “GO DEEP” and from there became a Disney actor for five years, most notably in the roles of Larry Beale in the Emmy-nominated Even Stevens and Larry Houdini in Don’t Look Under the Bed.

Later roles included The Young Little Richard Story and parts in Boston Public, Felicity, The District and NYPD Blue. He was in Oprah Winfrey’s DAVID AND LISA alongside Sidney Poitier, and was in THE CHALLENGE with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, and MATERIAL GIRLS with Hilary and Haylie Duff, and numerous other movies.

Over the last few years, Ty has set his sights on writing and directing, helming the award-winning feature film “Miles from Home”, which gained film festival awards for writing and directing and for his performance in the lead role.

His films may not have worldwide notoriety just yet, but because of his inimitable voice and storytelling panache, it won’t be long before he becomes a comparable household name to the likes of Spike Lee and Tyler Perry. His films have already gained him critical acclaim and respect from the Hollywood industry. He has had no difficulty in casting recognizable names in his film projects—from the late Ruby Dee, to Cosby actress, Raven-Symone, and veteran actor, Eric Roberts.

He has written and directed four features: “You, Me & the Circus”, for Omar Epps’ production company, Brooklyn Works, “VIDEO GIRL”, which premiered on BET to one million viewers and was an AMC limited release, “A Girl Like Grace”, and the recent, “CHARLIE, TREVOR AND A GIRL SAVANNAH”, which premiered in limited release this month. Moreover, he is currently developing projects for his production company, Art Farm Entertainment,
