Where She’s From: Lovely Minda Parker was an Army brat who grew up in a number of places, but Virginia is where she calls home. ‘My whole family lives here, and they’ve instilled many great values and traditions in me, including the value of hard work,” she tells The Black Star News. “I couldn’t ask for anything better than that.”
Minda attended Heritage High School and later on Tech School with the United States Air Force. “As far as modeling and acting goes, I am in the beginning stages and process of placing myself with the right agency,” she says. “I hope to network with as many people as I can and get booked for as many jobs as possible in the near future.”
Where She’s At: “When I was visiting New York City, there were a lot of agencies that didn’t want to work with models who were bigger than a size 4,” Minda says, when asked to discuss some of the challenges models face in the industry. “I am a size 6 and pretty skinny. They consider size 8 to be plus-size now.”
“So, that would put me right in the middle,” she adds. “It was hard to get jobs. I am very persistent though. I continued to go to castings anyway. My personality is what has continued to be a strong-suit and impresses people more than beauty alone.”
“I would say that being a part of the movie “The Boxer” starring William DeMeo from The Sopranos, New York Undercover, and Analyze That was really great,” Minda says, of some of her proudest projects to date. “It was a fun set, no egos, and very professional. I’d like to be a part of something like that again soon.”
“Character contributes to beauty,” she says. “It strengthens a woman as her youth fades. A mode of conduct, a standard of courage, discipline, intelligence, and integrity can do a great deal to make a woman beautiful.”
So how does this beautiful young model and actress prepare to step out? “I love Neutrogena Body Oil,” Minda says. “It’s perfect right after a shower; has a great scent, and it’s light, not greasy. I am never without my favorite lip gloss Cover Girl Wet Slicks Fruit Spritzers. The Guava Splash flavor tastes really good too.”
Minda’s Words Of Wisdom: “In dealing with people, remember what you see is what you get; the only thing that changes is that you get more of it. Always trust your instincts and never compromise yourself. Be you.”
Minda’s Secrets Of Success: “I choose to never give up. I choose to be myself and not try to be someone or something I’m not.”
