Netflix has officially ordered a reboot for the fan-favorite Little House on the Prairie. The iconic television series is based on the novel published by the same name by Laura Ingalls Wilder. The original series ruled the television screens in 1974-83. The plotline of the original series followed the book closely. It revolves around the story of the Ingalls family and their farm family in 1800s Minnesota. The Boys and The Vampire Diaries starrer Rebecca Sonnenshine is going to run the rebooted show.

Laura Ingalls Wilder
Laura Ingalls Wilder is the second child of five children from the Ingalls Pioneer family. She is famous as the de facto protagonist of the original series. In the early years of her life, she gets into a rivalry with the mischievous Nellie Oleson. However, as they both grow up they eventually make up and become young adults.

Mary Ingalls Kendall
Mary Ingalls Kendall is the eldest daughter of the Ingalls family. Melissa Sue Anderson played the role of Mary Ingalls Kendall in the original television series. She was just a few years older. Mary was a character who had both beauty and brains. Mary was shown as the intellectual one in the original series. She was more interested in studying rather than participating in the farm activities. Mary went blind when she was fifteen years old. She was then admitted into a school for the visually impaired.
Ma / Caroline Ingalls
Caroline Ingalls, known as Ma in the series, is the maternal figure in the family. She is the mother of the five children as well as the adoptive mother of Albert Quinn, James, and Cassandra Cooper. Ma is exactly how you will imagine a classic 1800s television mom. She has all the qualities of a perfect maternal figure like kindness, gentleness, honesty, and faithfulness. She has the habit of avoiding conflicts.
Pa / Charles Ingalls
Charles Ingalls, known as Pa in the series, is the paternal figure in the family. He is heading the family tree of the Ingalls. Charles is not portrayed like the stereotypical 1800s man. This is the only interesting thing about his character. Pa is definitely stern with his approach whenever he deems it necessary. But his overall character is more in touch with his emotions which is something not so common in that era. Whenever he raised his voice, it was out of love and concern for the person. He never behaved like an aggressive man in the series.
Carrie Ingalls
Carrie Ingalls is the last character officially confirmed to return in the reboot of Little House on the Prairie. She was the youngest daughter of the family. Carrie is often seen bonding with Ma more than her two sisters. She soon becomes one of the most beloved characters in the entire series. Lindsay and Sidney Greenbush were the two identical twins who played Carrie in the original series.

There have been no announcements about the cast of the upcoming reboot of the iconic television Little House on the Prairie. However, it is confirmed no original cast member is going to return to the reboot. The show is still in its early development phase. It does not have a finalized release date decided either.
