The following letter to the editor was sent by Utah reader Kimball Shinkoskey, who says Trump’s Republican Party is engaging in communist-style actions:
President Trump has been presiding over a communist-style purge of nearly three dozen senior military officials “without cause.” This is “totally unprecedented” in American history, but right at home in Soviet communist history.
Trump is also sending deportees to “third party nations” like the exiles Lenin and Stalin sent to Siberia. He sends folks to corrupt, autocratic places like El Salvador, Equatorial Guinea, and the Central African Republic to punish them for having legitimate human aspirations.
Trump is also reveling in communist-style “gunpoint diplomacy” with Venezuela, much like communist imperialists did in Eastern Europe after World War II. The Venezuelan constitution says that foreign public contracts like Trump’s new “oil deal” must be approved by the National Assembly. The Trump administration didn’t allow that because it is as anti-democratic in foreign policy as the communist party administration in China is today.
