Reader doesn’t think Morial’s plan to boost economy will be embraced by politicos
Given today’s political tendencies and debates Mr. Marc Morial’s suggestion has about as much chance of realization as a lead balloon does of flying! Neither party nor any of its members can openly call for such an emergency measure given today’s political climate. Mr. Morial is peddling empty fantasies but who is he talking to? Who in their right mind thinks that the American political system could possibly embrace such a position?
Dear Mr. Morial I hate to tell you but the New Deal and any programs resembling it have long been over. Successful Blacks must cease selling pipe dreams to the poor and downtrodden. Pie in the sky solutions are no solutions at all.
Unfortunately the Urban League has traditionally been an organization that caters to Black wishful thinkers and they never identify with the people or problems in the ‘hood.
