MODEL OF THE DAY
Where She’s From: Kimberly Randall, whose Zodiac sign is Taurus, was born in White Plains, New York, April 29th, 1986, of Jamaican descent, and raised in Georgia.
“My parents taught me that the decisions I make now influence me the remainder of my life. So I think before I speak, she tells The Black Star News. Kimberly briefly attended Hampton University and now attends Georgia State from where she’ll graduate in December.
“I began modeling and acting at 13. School plays, dancing, acting and doing hair advertisements for Kanekalon Hair, she says. “I directed plays in High school as well as hosted news programs at my magnet school. I am now hosting an online television show for Rolling Out T.V, on rollingouttv.com.
Where She’s At: “I’m at the best stage right now. I’m headed in the right direction while learning something new everyday and meeting amazing people,â€? Kimberly continues. “I’m growing by watching others and seeing how they attained their success. I’m strong in my belief of God, and he has me reaching for the stars.â€?
Kimberly is ambitious—yet she knows that success only comes after hard work. “I see myself hopefully with my own show with the growing network Rolling Out, hosting events as a prominent M.C. I hope to inspire younger girls. Helping them see that just because your beautiful, you don’t have to just be a video girl. You can be the director of the video, or the television host and that it takes patience and hard work to make it to a place where every morning you can wake up proud of how you reached your dreams.
There are challenges that everyone who aspires to make it in the entertainment business has to tackle, Kimberly explains. “Temptations of taking the easy road, but I know that nothing about life is supposed to be easy,â€? she warns. “If it were, then our ancestors wouldn’t have achieved what they had, and we wouldn’t be where we are as a people today.â€?

Where She’s Heading: Kimberly’s dedication has allowed her to rack up achievements, even as she keeps her eyes on her books and class assignments until December. “I am a part of the new Bronner Brothers advertisement campaign,â€? she notes. “I have been featured in a soon-to-be released magazine as well as promoting up-and-coming fashion lines.â€?

“My mother said ‘a pretty face only gets you to age 40.’ I plan to be successful past that, and after looks fade and things begin to sag, she adds, with a laugh, “I have to have something solid to fall back on. I want to remain successful not because of my exterior but because of who I am inside—a reflection of my family and my culture.

They are comfy and stylish, Cocoa butter for the skin—the best lotion for dark complexion. And for clothing, I am best friends with the Black and White store. I love dressing up.
Kimberly’s Words Of Wisdom: “Never let anyone, any words or any assumptions stop you from conquering your dreams. The same people that told you ‘no,’ or ‘you can’t’ one day will be the same ones chasing you down for a hand out.â€?
