Kilmar Abrego Garcia Should Fear Deportation To Uganda, World’s Torture Capital

By Milton Allimadi

Should Kilmar Abrego Garcia whose deportation has been temporarily blocked by a federal judge fear being shipped off to Uganda?

You bet he should.

Uganda has become the torture capital of the world under military dictators Gen. Yoweri Museveni, who seized power in 1986, and who runs the country with the help of his degenerate son, the unofficial deputy military dictator Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

Since shredding Uganda’s constitution by removing the presidential term limit and the 75-years age cap, Museveni, 80, has relied solely on brute force, kidnappings, torture, and killings to maintain power through terror. Even young people who criticize tyranny and corruption on TikTok end up being tortured and slapped with almost three years prison sentences.

Gen. Kainerugaba is the regime’s designated chief torturer. One of his past victims include the famous Ugandan writer Kakwenza Rukirabashaija. Muhoozi is detested by Ugandans in the same manner in which Iraqis once hated Uday Hussein, son of dictator Saddam Hussein.

Gen. Muhoozi is more outrageous than the late Uday Hussein who was killed by American soldiers during the Iraq invasion. He publicly gloats about his evil deeds whereas the Husseins claimed they never harmed anyone. The most recent instance was a few months ago when Muhoozi kidnapped and tortured Eddy Mutwe, chief body guard to Robert Kyagulanyi, a.k.a. Bobi Wine, the young political star who is widely believed to have soundly defeated Museveni in the 2021 vote. Bobi Wine’s meteoric political rise is captured in the 2024 Oscar-nominated documentary film “Bobi Wine, the People’s President: The Man and the Movement.” He too was tortured by in 2018 by Museveni’s and Muhoozi’s soldiers.

Here’s how The Times of London covered Mutwe’s torture by Muhoozi on May 2, 2025.

“Uganda’s military chief General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, widely seen as heir to his long-ruling father President Museveni, has shared goading updates on the detention and alleged torture of a missing opposition figure. In a string of posts that began on Thursday night, the Sandhurst-trained Kainerugaba claimed his men had captured Mutwe ‘like a grasshopper’ and were using him ‘as a punching bag.’”

Yes readers. This is the man who helps his father run Uganda, the country where the US wants to ship Abrego to.

Why are Museveni and Muhoozi desperate to take in Abrego? Their backs are against the wall.

Following Museveni’s defeat in 2021, as in earlier elections when he lost to opposition leader Dr. Kizza Besigye, Museveni simply refused to yield power to Bobi Wine. Since he and his son control the armed forces the wicked duo embarked on a campaign of kidnapping and torturing young supporters or suspected supporters of Bobi Wine’s National Unity Party (NUP).

Many supporters are still missing and some have been killed. The terror campaign was covered by global media including The Guardian, BBC, Al Jazeera, and New York Times. Ugandans filed petitions, with evidence, demanding that the ICC investigate and indict Museveni and Muhoozi for crimes against humanity.

The U.S. was once the Museveni and Muhoozi regime’s biggest sponsor, shelling them about $ 1 billion annually. That disappeared overnight after Trump came into office. Yet Museveni and Muhoozi continued to get support from Britain and the EU.

However relations with the Europeans soured after Muhoozi gloated repeatedly about torturing Mutwe in May. The Europeans had no choice but to condemn the regime’s brutality. Museveni pays attention to them because their money is much more needed now that the U.S. largess has ended.

Uganda’s next presidential election is in January 2026.You can be sure that senior dictator Museveni, with the help of his Capo, Gen. Muhoozi, will rig the vote.

Here is where Kilmar Abrego comes into the picture.

Museveni, the cunning Machiavellian, knows he could face more rejection from the European countries that bankroll him after he steals the presidential vote. He’s hoping that by currying favor with Donald Trump, he can win a powerful ally who will provide diplomatic cover to handle the anticipated fallout after he rigs the vote.

What better way to do so than take in people deported by the U.S.?

Kilmar Abrego Garcia is a pawn in military dictators Museveni’s and Muhoozi’s schemes to hold on to power in Uganda.

If deported to Uganda he will be in the world’s torture capital with the risks entailed.
