In Kenya, six people are dead after a medical charity plane crashed in Nairobi, Kenya’s capital. The plane was owned by Charity Amref Flying Doctors.

The Cessna plane crashed, and burst into flames, on Thursday afternoon, while it was en-route to Hargeisa, the capital of Somalia’s breakaway region of Somaliland. Four passengers on the plane were killed and two were inside a house.
According to the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority, the plane lost radar and radio contact three minutes after takeoff. Amref CEO Stephen Gitau, said in a statement that “At this time, we are cooperating fully with relevant aviation authorities and emergency response teams to establish the facts surrounding the situation.”
In a statement, the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority said, “We are deeply saddened by this tragic incident involving an air ambulance mission.”
Kenya’s Red Cross stated that their rescue teams were dispatched to the crash site in Kiambu. Kiambu County borders Nairobi.
