The film is a psychological-musical thriller with Joaquin Phoenix reprising his role as the Joker/ Arthur Flex from the 2019 film and Lady Gaga joining him in playing his love interest, Harley Quinn. The movie is more or less based on DC comic characters.
Todd Phillips is the director and co-writer of Joker 2. The other screenplay writer is Scott Silver. They both directed and co-written the Joker(2019) film, too. The movie is produced by Warner Bros. Picture and DC Studios.

Joker 2 UK Premiere
Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga – the two lead characters of Joker 2, along with the director, Todd Phillips, attended the UK Premiere on Wednesday, 25th September, in London’s Leicester Square. The premiere was for the upcoming film, a sequel to the 2019 Joker movie.
The 2019 Joker film earned Joaquin Phoenix an Academy Award in the Best Actor Category. He reprises his titular role as the Joker/Arthur Flex, with Lady Gaga joining the sequel as his love interest, Harley Quinn.
The film follows the events of the 2019 Joker film. Arthur Fleck is a person with a mental health condition at Gotham’s Arkham Asylum waiting for his trial results. There, he meets Harleen Quinzel(Harley Quinn) and falls in love with her. After falling in love, he also finds his hidden passion for music. The couple experience their love as a musical journey through their linked insanity while Arthur’s followers outside the asylum start a movement to free him.

The actors, directors and producers of the Joker 2 film, Emma Tillinger Koskoff and Joseph Garner, attended the UK premiere in London. They all walked the London Red Carpet outside the Cineworld Leicester Square.
Lady Gaga’s Album Announcement
Lady Gaga portrays Harley Quinn in the Joker 2 film. She announced on instagram on 24 September that her new album related to the Joker: Folie à Deux film is titled “Harlequin.” The album will be released on 27 September. Lady Gaga walked on the red carpet, and fans went crazy over her arrival, repeatedly exclaiming, “Gaga!”
Todd Phillips Comments On Joker 2
The film’s director, Todd Phillips, expressed his opinions on the musical journey that the film revolves around. Unlike its predecessor, Joker 2019, Music plays a key role in the current Joker 2 film. Phillips told a group of journalists that the thought to include music in this movie came from the idea that he and Joaquin discussed the same while making the first Joker film in 2019. He said that the character Arthur Flex, although dejected by the world around him, has a love for music inside him. The scenes from the first movie where he dances on the stairs or in the bathroom portray that. So, the writers and actors decided to include the music element in the film, thinking that if Arthur finds love in his life, his love for music will also come.
Phillips said that the decision to include the musical journey in Joker 2 was logical and practical, though it may appear illogical to some viewers.

Harry Lawtey on the Film
Harry Lawtey plays the character of Harvey Dent, the district attorney who tries to bring Arthur to justice for his crimes. He is also known as two-face in the Joker 2 movie. When asked whether viewers can see more of his role, he said it was a privilege to portray the character as there is a huge fandom for the character among comic fans.
Harry Lawtey further said that the beauty of these roles is that there are various interpretations of these roles from various people, and he has been motivated to portray the character in his way. He certainly hoped to make a different Harvey Dent character.
Lady Gaga’s Dramatic Appearance

On Wednesday, 25 September, she walked the London Red Carpet in a stunning full-length red dress with a stylish shoulder puff blazer around her. Though her dress was stunningly beautiful, it was not what caught the attention of the fans. Her red bob hairstyle and light blue eye makeup with a tear down on her right eye to pay respect to her character- Harley Quinn, and the film’s theme was the central attraction.
Earlier this month, on 4th September, when the film premiered at the International Film Festival, Venice, she wore a fashionable black-length dress. Lady Gaga was accompanied by her fiance, Michael Polansky, at both events.
Lady Gaga walked the red carpet with her co-star Joaquin Phoenix, who kept things simple by wearing a black suit. Her fans praised her fashion sense and her upcoming “Harlequin” album on the red carpet.

Leigh Gill and Sharon Washington reprise their roles as Gary Puddles and Arthur’s social worker. Catherine Keener acts as Maryanne Stewart, Arthur’s lawyer. Harry Lawtey as Harvey Dent, another central character who is a district attorney and will try his best to bring Arthur to justice for his crimes.
The psychological-musical thriller Joker: Folie à Deux wil be released in the United States on 4 October, 2024. It was released at the International Film Festival, Venice, on 4th September.
