Internship Opportunities

The Office of Councilmember Ydanis Rodriguez is offering internship opportunities to undergraduate students and recent graduates in the District Office in Washington Heights and/or the City Hall Office located Downtown. All of our internships are challenging and educational, requiring a high level of self-initiative and commitment to New York City and the Northern Manhattan community. This is a great opportunity for interns to learn firsthand about currents events, the local political system, and public service.

Interns will learn firsthand about current events, the local political system, and have the opportunity to create lasting change in Northern Manhattan through the City Council office.

Requirements: Due to the nature of the work that interns will be doing, they must be computer literate (able to use Excel, Microsoft Office, Outlook) and have strong writing skills.

All internships are unpaid, although we do encourage interns to seek academic credit for their internships. The hourly commitment is flexible based on availability, but 10-15 hours per week is recommended.

How To Apply: Please provide a one page resume listing your educational background, activities, and any other applicable prior experience. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.  Start and end dates are flexible.
