“The John Lewis Voting Rights Plenary Session,” will be held today, Saturday, November 5, 2022, 1:00pm

A roundtable discussion on the importance of voting rights, “The John Lewis Voting Rights Plenary Session,” will be held today, Saturday, November 5, 2022, 1:00pm, at the Newark Public Library, 5 Washington Street in Newark, New Jersey.

It is being hosted by The National Black Political Convention and The Newark Public Library.

Speakers at the event include Amina Baraka, poet and playwright, Junius Williams, Newark City Historian, and Lawrence Hamm, Chairman, People’s Organization For Progress. The discussion will be moderated by Kaleena Berryman, author and education advocate. Opening remarks will be made by Dr Lauren Wells, President, Newark Library Board of Trustees.

This program is one of a series leading up to The National Black Political Convention being planned for next year in Newark, New Jersey.

The program is open to the public and admission is free.
