iArts Media Institute, For training Youth in Arts, Entertainment, Media Launches In Newark
Newark is the home to the newly formed iArts Media Institute whose focus is to offer training and career development to address the staggering unemployment rate for NJ residents.
In partnership with Mayor Ras J. Baraka, iArts Media Institute and celebrity staff, the Institute hopes to attract youth from this critical demographic of 16-24 year
olds. On Wednesday, March 2, 2016 will host a press conference at 205 Spruce St., Newark, NJ.
The unemployment rate for Newark is 9.6%.
“The City of Newark has a 350-year history of creativity, with lustrous names like Stephen Crane, Philip Roth, Sarah Vaughan, Whitney Houston, and John Amos,” mayor Baraka said.
“Today we have a vast wealth of untapped talent who will write new pages in that history, if we give them the opportunity to express their creativity and innovation. I am proud of our administration is uniting with private partners like the iArts Media Institute to break the cycles
that have held our citizens back, and empower them with the tools to become the next generation of national and international stars and titans of the entertainment world.”
The goal of iArts Media Institute is to attract students and hone future world visionaries. The institute believes the students will be inspired by the celebrity instructors.
Courses include Acting, Broadcasting, Film, Fashion, E-Commerce & Technology, Music Business & Promotions, Photography, Public Speaking and PR, Media & Social Media.
According to Billboard.com (2016) arts, entertainment and media will account for $2 trillion by 2017, providing employment opportunities throughout the world.
