The Biden Administration’s veto of the Palestinian peoples’ bid for full United Nations membership is another explicit example of America’s exceptional hypocrisy while uttering bloviating bull about upholding democracy.
This veto is proof positive that President Joe Biden doesn’t give a damn about any so-called “two-state solution.”
How can Biden logically pretend he cares about a Palestinian state while blocking this resolution for Palestinian statehood in the United Nations? If America cares about Palestinian sovereignty, why are they helping Netanyahu’s genocidal racist right-wing government thwart it in the United Nations?
Netanyahu has long made it clear he opposes any two-state solution.
Of course, this action underscores that America wants Israel to be the one to decide what measures the people of Palestine can take in deciding their destiny. What right does the United States have to determine how Palestinians should be recognized on the world stage?
How is this, in any way, upholding the virtues of democracy?
However, honestly, this episode demonstrates that the United Nations is an undemocratic body because it was set up that way by countries like the United States. On the so-called Security Council, only the five permanent members (United States, United Kingdom, France, Russia, and China) have veto power. And once one single country enacts its veto it cannot be overridden. This, despite the fact, that the United Nations body is made up of 193 member states.
When five countries have veto power in an international organization of 193 members that is not a model of international democratic governance.
And we are also seeing that Americans do not have real true democracy in America either.
Across America, many citizens are voicing their displeasure as our political “leaders” give their blessings to the killings of Palestinians. But the political prostitutes who control our government refuse to listen to the voices of Americans. In fact, American citizens are being threatened and silenced for speaking out. Imagine, some are even losing jobs for denouncing genocide. And on our college campuses, where debating differences on difficult subjects should be encouraged, we’re witnessing a wave of censorship to silence students who advocate for protecting Palestinians.
What happened to freedom of speech?
Why is all this occurring? Because of the corrupting cash influence that goes into the coffers of our bought-and-paid-for politicians.
Let’s be clear on this: America’s political class is supporting Netanyahu’s genocide in Gaza because the blood bribes stuffing their filthy pockets, from big money campaign contributors, requires it. And these donor daddies control our politicians—and American “democracy.” The Palestinians are being slaughtered because they are deemed disposable people whose lives don’t matter to the humans who operate up on Capitol Hill and in the White House.
Since, Netanyahu’s failure to protect his citizens was exposed after Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack (the same Hamas Netanyahu supported, so he could divide the Palestinian leadership and sabotage the two-state solution) this murderous monster has been wantonly killing Palestinian civilians.
Netanyahu’s genocide, committed with weapons labelled made in America, has claimed close to 34,000 Palestinians lives. There are no doubt untold numbers of bodies buried under bomb-blasted buildings that are decaying as Netanyahu’s ethnic cleansing campaign continues.
Because the Biden White has been complicit in Netanyahu’s mass massacre of Palestinians, they are attacking South Africa for daring to take a charge of genocide to the International Court of Justice. The Biden White House mendaciously called South Africa’s claim “meritless.” And now Congress is targeting South Africa because they took Israel, and by extension America, to the International Court of Justice.
It should also be noted that Biden’s shameless action is taking placing after Netanyahu’s attack on the Iranian consulate in the country of Syria. But Biden deceitfully condemned Iran for defending themselves after Netanyahu’s naked unprovoked aggression, which Biden failed to mention in a White House statement.
Apparently, the “rule of law,” democratic sovereignty, and the right to defend oneself, is only for some and is certainly not for poor Palestinians.
