This past Saturday, in the coolest and most clement spring weather, more than 90 West Harlem residents, children of all ages, came to Montefiore Park to enjoy the first of four FREE Jazz concerts playing every Saturday in June!

The month-long FREE Jazz Fest started with the Right Reverand Charles Butler and the Blues Bandits, presented in collaboration with Gwen Black and the Arts & Jazzfest NYC!

In attendance and well represented was Martin Collins of the Uptown Arts Stroll, providing the all-encompassing Arts Stroll guide and hand fans. Also present were our local district leaders, community affairs POs, and Basia Nikonorow, the volunteer community coordinator of Montefiore Park Neighborhood Association.

All in all, a marvelous start to this year’s Montefiore Park FREE Jazz Fest!

UP NEXT…

DURIEUX

Next up at Montefiore Park, this Saturday 15th at 6pm, the progress jazz vides of DURIEUX. Durieux is a Bronx-based band known for an idiosyncratic, yet moving, take on Alternative R&B/Soul. Led by singer and rhythm guitarist Bryan Durieux, a storyteller and a performer that writes his lyrics, from the heart, based on experiences in life that anyone can find relatable. Blend that with the sound of his band and it becomes an experience that will have you in your feelings, in the groove and singing your heart out.

This presentation is curated by iamchelseaiam and made possible by the West Harlem Arts Alliance, NYC Parks, Partnership for Parks, CityParks Foundation, Community Board 9M, and the West Harlem Development Corporation.
