Constituency For Africa (CFA) President Melvin Foote shown with some of the participants in the Georgetown African Business Forum held yesterday on the Georgetown University campus in Washington, DC.
The dynamic forum brought together over 400 young African entrepreneurs to discuss business development opportunities on the continent.
Foote said he was pleased with the forum but would like to see the participation extended to African-Americans, Afro-Caribbeans and others from the Diaspora. “This segmented approach to organizing the Diaspora will only lead to confusion and a disjointed approach to Africa,” he said.
He further went on to say: “Given the recent revelation of Georgetown’s sell of slaves in the 1800s to finance operations, you would think they would be more sensitive about some of this.”
