Norris and Piastri Shine
Norris achieved a lap time of 1 minute and 15.096 seconds. He set this time in the final qualifying session. This is known as Q3. Also, Piastri’s racing at his home event thrilled fans. He took the lead with a time of 1 minute 15.180 seconds. Moreover, Max Verstappen from Red Bull Racing started in third place. He took a time of 1 minute 15.481 seconds.
Other Top Performers
George Russell from Mercedes qualified fourth. He finished with a time of 1 minute 15.546 seconds. Also, Yuki Tsunoda from Racing Bulls impressed everyone. He finished fifth with a time of 1 minute 15.670 seconds. Finally, Alex Albon, driving for Williams, came sixth. His time was 1 minute 15.737 seconds.
Ferrari Struggles
The Ferrari drivers had a tough qualifying session. Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton ended up in seventh and eighth place, respectively. Moreover, Leclerc’s time was 1 minute 15.755 seconds. Early Rounds
The qualifying session began with Q1. Norris set the fastest time of 1 minute 16.003 seconds. Verstappen followed closely behind. Also, Piastri was third. However, some drivers faced difficulties. Ollie Bearman from Haas could not set a time due to a gearbox issue.
Kimi Antonelli, a rookie from Mercedes, just missed the cut. He finished in P16. Liam Lawson is also a rookie for Red Bull. He finished P18 and did not advance. The session saw Nico Hulkenberg in P17. Also, Esteban Ocon in P19 marked a challenging start for Haas.
More Drama
In Q2, Norris continued to excel. He set the fastest time again. Moreover, he showed strong form. Hamilton had a moment when he spun. This brought out yellow flags. The incident affected other drivers trying to set their final laps. Alonso from Aston Martin and Stroll also faced elimination. They finished P12 and P13. Isack is a rookie for Racing Bulls. He ended up in P11 and just missed out on Q3.
The Final Showdown
Q3 was the final chance for drivers to secure their starting positions. Leclerc looked strong at first. However, he was quickly overtaken by Verstappen. Norris initially had his time deleted. This was for exceeding his track limits. This put him under pressure.
