Peace Action is the nation’s largest grassroots peace advocacy organization. For years now, our chapter at Peace Action has been highlighting the systemic injustices and inequalities that have shaped the United States and the world at large. Macaulay Peace Action is happy to announce that we are mobilizing students, organizers, community activists, and academics for a three-day conference called the CUNY Summit for Peace & Justice.
We have assembled a diverse roster of over 20 speakers, activity facilitators, and student clubs for this summit. The skills and ideals we hope to teach at this summit will give students the means to build unity in our diversity, solidarity in our communities, and a just & equitable future.
The CUNY Summit for Peace & Justice will:
(A) Be held from Friday, March 31st to Sunday, April 2nd, 2023 at the Macaulay Honors College, CUNY (35 W 67th St).
(B) Include panels and guided discussions on Palestine, Ukraine, healthcare, anti-racism, the climate crisis, and more.
(C) Highlight speakers from all around the world: from CUNY to Gaza City and Hong Kong. Speakers include CUNY faculty Barbara Katz Rothman, Julie George, Thomas Ort, Andrés Bernal, Antonia Cucchiara, and Micha Tomkiewicz.
(D) Feature arts activities, including painting and origami.
(E) Hold a book club for radical political theory.
(F) Have an art gallery showcased throughout all three days that students can submit their own pieces to!
(G) Include free dinner and a cooking show!
(H) Be about 5 hours each day, going from 3:00 PM till 8:00 PM.

We welcome anyone and everyone to attend!
Our goal is to foster an intellectual and moral community at the college level and build a student movement for peace and justice so that we may collectively transform our world. We hope you can join us!
