Meanwhile, Gray was picked 105th overall from SMU. Davis-Price aimed for a spot on the 53-man roster. This was during training camp last summer.
He spent the entire season on the practice squad. He showed potential as an NFL-level runner. However, he struggled in the passing game but made progress over time. With running back Kenny Gainwell set to become a free agent, there may be an opportunity for Davis-Price. He may earn a spot on the active roster.
Gray joined the Eagles later in the season and impressed many. Defensive teammates often mentioned him as the best scout-team player. He was responsible for mimicking the opponent’s best wide receiver during practices. Gray has more receiving skills than some of the Eagles’ rookies at the position. With star receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith on the roster, the Eagles are focused on adding depth.
