As they throw Marley into the water with weights to make her sink, something unexpected happens. The sedative begins to wear off, and Markey regains enough strength to escape. She hides until he can access the boat’s flare gun. She shoots Kevin and Tony in an act of self-defense. Moreover, she secures her evidence. In the end, Marley exposes the truth and clears Caleb’s name.
