Produced by the multi-talented Ce’Cile on the breezy “Boss” riddim, the song sees Gyptian dialing back his usual swagger in favor of something sweeter. He explores a rare connection that fulfills all his needs–spiritual, emotional… and so on. Balancing vulnerability with his signature playful charm, Gyptian confesses, “I want to show you… love you, like no other can.”

My style is melody and roses for the ladies,” says Gyptian. “That’s ‘Gyptian’—straight from my heart to their ears.

“Wanna Keep It” is the fourth song on the “Boss” riddim to drop this year, following Ce’Cile’s “Boss,” Christopher Martin’s “Boasy,” and most recently, Soun Bwoii’s “Soul Snatcher.”

This release marks another milestone in what has proven to be a standout year for Gyptian. Earlier in 2024, his global hit “Hold You” was certified 2x platinum in the U.K., with over 1.2 million units sold. He also released the Guarded EP in collaboration with producer Chambah and followed it up with the song “In the Dark.” Gyptian’s live performances have also shone, including his appearance at the 2024 Reggae Land Festival in Milton Keynes, U.K., where he shared the stage with artists like Wayne Wonder, General Levy, and Popcaan.

“Wanna Keep It” will be available on all digital platforms on December 13.

ABOUT GYPTIAN

In 2010, the global success of “Hold You” catapulted Gyptian into international stardom, establishing him as a reggae sensation. By then, the Jamaican artist had already built a strong foundation with tracks like “Serious Times,” which highlighted his smooth vocals and poignant messages. Over two decades into his career, Gyptian continues to evolve, blending classic roots reggae and dancehall with contemporary sounds. His upcoming single, “Wanna Keep It,” produced by Ce’Cile on the “Boss” riddim, is set for release on December 13 via VP Records, promising a heartfelt yet modern take on love and connection.

Born Windel Beneto Edwards in King Weston District, Jamaica, Gyptian began his musical journey under the mentorship of talent scout Ravin Wong and legendary guitarist Earl “Chinna” Smith. His breakthrough hit “Hold You” peaked at No. 77 on the Billboard Hot 100, spent nine weeks at No. 1 on the Reggae Digital Songs chart, and achieved 2x platinum certification in the UK with over 1.2 million sales. Known for his seamless fusion of reggae and dancehall, Gyptian has amassed hundreds of millions of streams with hits like “Wine Slow” and “Non Stop,” as well as standout projects like Hold You (2010) and Sex, Love, and Reggae (2013). His latest single, “Wanna Keep It,” dials back his swagger for a sweeter, more vulnerable approach, with Gyptian confessing, “I want to show you, love you, like no other can.”
