Curb Your Enthusiasm, on the other hand, proved to be one of the most popular and unique comedies in television history. It was made by Larry David, one of the co-creators of Seinfeld, and changed the way humor was presented on television. One of the most important aspects of the success of this series is the stellar cast, with every actor performing his role to perfection, making the series unforgettable.
Larry David As Himself
Surprisingly enough, Larry David plays himself in the show with the difference that the version of Larry David in the show is fictional. As the series creator and the main character, Larry constructs a series of comic situations where he embarks on socially cringeworthy and challenging moments. Larry David, widely known for “Seinfeld” contributes to the series with his trademark wit and humorous observations.

Jeff Garlin as Jeff Greene
In the television series, Jeff Greene was played by Jeff Garlin who was able to establish himself as Larry’s dedicated friend and a manager who only cared about the business and not Larry’s fame. The mirth of Larry’s marriage also brought some hilarity out of Jeff’s character as both Jeff and his wife made appearances. Apart from Curb Your Enthusiasm, Garlin is also known for playing Murray Goldberg in the television series The Goldbergs.
Cheryl Hines as Cheryl David
Cheryl Hines played the character of Cheryl David, who in the beginning is married to Larry but in the series became the ex-wife of Larry. In many of the episodes where Larry has been rather disruptive, Cheryl wouldn’t mind giving him a piece of her mind which is what she does in such cases. When a character commands that much screen presence, it is only expected that the actor has had a successful career and Hines indeed has found success, appearing in the television show “Suburgatory”, and turning director for the movie “Serious Moonlight”.
Susie Essman as Susie Greene
Jeff’s wife Susie Greene, who Garlin believes is the new strongest and angriest character who ‘always gets what she wants’ also had an impressive character arc in the series. Susie, due to her rude personality and aggression, was forced into a couple of fights with her ex-friend Larry. One would regard Essman’s strong comical performance as emphatic if one has witnessed her performances in “Broad City” and the animated film “Bolt” where her comic timing shone through.
J.B. Smoove as Leon Black
Please answer the following questions: What do you think about the return of David but this time with new characters and a new name? Does he have a close reputation in the industry or is he still the Larry we all loved in comedies? In the television show Seinfeld, Larry was associated with Leon Black when he was called Heather. He has become a favourite character to many as the show progresses further. Emmanuel always brings out the absolute best in every scenario, doesn’t he? Even when Larry takes something too far, there is always a contrast; completely babbling nonsense versus raw British elegantly influencing you. Other than a couple of Spider-Man roles which he portrayed in Spiderman: Far From Home, Smoove also has a successful career in stand-up comedy.
Richard Lewis as Himself
Richard Lewis is best straightforwardly called Richard because he is primarily seen as coming out as an American stand-up comic, actor, writer, and television director, attempting to portray himself very carefully on T.V. Lewis first came into prominence because of his egoistic neurotic stand-up comedies and movies, where he has most often played himself, appearing throughout film and television.
Ted Danson as Himself
Ted Danson, who as seen in both Cheers and NBC’s The Good Place Plays Myself is a fictional version of himself, interacts regularly with his on-screen counterpart Larry and although they come from the same world they have distinct differences in characteristics.
Bob Einstein as Marty Funkhouser
Einstein’s ability to bring forth exceptional performances is exceptional and coupled with the finest sense of humour, being a comedian helped him earn the role of Funkhouser. It was indeed sad that we lost Bob Einstein. He passed away in 2019. Fun fact, did you know the great Super Dave Osborne was also Bob Einstein? It still strikes me how alike one work can be polished yet prove to be significant in their own way.

Ashly Holloway as Sammi Greene
Ashly Holloway has played the role of Sammi Greene, the daughter of Jeff and Susie, in the series. You can very much regard her as a mix of her parents primarily because of how deeply dysfunctional their family came out to be in the series.
Shelley Berman as Nat David
Larry cast his own father as Nat David in the show which marked the highlight as we say hi to a stand-up comedian who has retired and joined the cast with warmth and humor to the show. And thus we see a very emotional side to this series as we see Berman sprinkle his brilliance throughout the show.
Antoinette Spolar as Larry’s Receptionist
Antoinette Spolar seems to have to bear and wait as Larry’s receptionist all the time. This character’s scenes with Larry emphasize his actions while also making it easy for her to work for him.
Ellia English as Auntie Rae
Ellia English puts in a ‘cute’ performance for Auntie Rae, who is Loretta Black’s relative. English is another actress known from “The Jamie Foxx Show” and does a good job in her character.
Vivica A. Fox as Loretta Black
In the later seasons, Larry has a girlfriend named Loretta Black, and Vivica A. Fox plays her. She contributes to the makeup of the show through her character Loretta and is remembered for such roles, appearing in “Independence Day” and “Kill Bill.”
Vince Vaughn as Freddy Funkhouser
Marty’s brother, Freddy Funkhouser, becomes the baby of the family in the person of Vaughn. Vaughn starred in comedies such as ‘Wedding Crashers’ and ‘Dodgeball’ and he knows how to bring the metaphorical heat to the series.
Carla Jeffery as Keysha Black
Carla Jeffery takes up the role of Keysha Black, daughter of Loretta. It further developed the family comedy and realistic side of the show through her performance.
Nick Nervies as Daryl Black
Daryl Black who is Loretta’s son, is played by Nick Nervies. His role would still be in the series in order to add a mischievous side and youthful feel to the cast.

Ann Ryerson as Nan Funkhouser
Ann Ryerson’s contribution as ‘Nan Funkhouser’ further adds to the already outlandish charm of the Funkhouser family. Ryerson’s other credits include the film ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’ amongst a few other projects.
Wanda Sykes as Herself
In a fictionalized role of herself, Sykes often has to debate with Larry on how he behaves. Though Sykes appeared in such series as ‘black-ish’ and ‘The New Adventures of Old Christine,’ her dry humour is an asset in this show.
Why “Curb Your Enthusiasm” Continues to Shine
Why “Curb Your Enthusiasm” Doesn’t Die Out The creativity of the show “Curb Your Enthusiasm” consists of combining individual script writing and improvisation at the same time. With the combination of their chemistry and the script written by Larry David, the whole scene becomes hilarious and somewhat believable simultaneously.
Be it the absurd debates, the twists that one could not have anticipated, or the unique cameos, Curb Your Enthusiasm is still one of the best-watched series for any fan of humor. The commitment of the cast and their brilliance cements the place of the show on television.
