Cross Season 1 hit the online platform Prime Videos on 14 November 2024. Based on James Patterson’s best-selling novels, it is a crime thriller series consisting of 8 episodes. The story revolves around Alex Cross, the lead character, who is a detective and investigating officer at the Washington, D.C. police department. In the process of solving two cases, his life totally changes as he is tormented by his disturbing past.
When Cross was into solving a series of crimes, by some serial killers, he was totally shocked with the murder of his wife Maria. Gradually, he got to know that it was all a pre-planned game to target him and his family. The very person who killed his wife is revealed in the finale and it was totally shocking for Cross as well as for the viewers.

Finally, Ed Ramsey got what he deserved
Ed Ramsey was a man who was desperate to be called a great serial killer. He wanted people to recognize him, this is the only reason he started murdering people. In the story we see he has already murdered 11 people, he wanted Cross to give him the credit for all the kills, but instead of giving him all the credits Cross simply destroyed his scrapbook where he had kept all the details of his crimes and sent him behind the rage.
When Cross and his partner got to know that Ramsey’s next target, Shannon Witmer, was about to arrest him, Ramsey gave himself an injection. The injection only makes him appear dead. In the hospital also he tried to kill Sannon when he was recovering, as he was on his way to get his 12th kill, but Cross understood his intentions and rushed to the hospital and saved Shannon from the killer.
Alex discovers about his wife’s murder
After sending Ramsay behind bars, Cross was totally focused on keeping his family safe.
Just then he gets betrayed by his own people, Miss Nancy’s intentions were not good, her eyes on the Cross and his family were for too long. She wanted Cross to feel the same pain she had felt earlier in his life. When Peter learns about Nancy’s plan, a fight breaks out between them. Then Cross pulled out his gun and she confessed to killing Maria and set herself on fire.

The unknown person targeting Cross and his family
Lieutenant Massey–who was always there to help him in his crucial time, and has also supported him in his investigations, shoots Mike Grisham, who was the only witness to make Ramsey give punishment for his acts.
Cross was not prepared for this, Cross realized that the more he was trying to save his family, he didn’t have any idea that his family was the only target from day one.

Cross Season 1 Review: Is Cross Worth Watching
Cross season 1 brings out a fresh casting. Alex Cross is truly unmatchable, smart, brave, and totally committed to his work. Strong performance of the characters whole the viewers throughout the movie. The characters’ conversation with their children is very authentic. This movie must deserve a watch.
What next in season 2
In the final episode, we saw Cross sitting with a man whom he thought was the killer of his wife. They were talking about some sort of information Trey could give them related to the murder. It will be interesting in season 2 to find out the information Trey will provide to Cross.
