Today, Council Member Diana Ayala endorsed Comptroller Scott Stringer’s campaign for Mayor of the City of New York.

Council Member Ayala, a strong champion of immigrant communities, hailed Stringer’s inclusive approach to government, his record of progressive accomplishment and advocating against gun violence, as well as his management experience to lead an effective recovery in New York City.

Council Member Diana Ayala said: “Scott Stringer believes the best way to advance progressive causes is to deliver progressive results. That’s been the hallmark of his career. He represents all New Yorkers, stands up to gun violence, gives voice to marginalized communities and is a champion for immigrants and the affordable housing we need to make it in this city. He’s not just a proud progressive, but a proven manager who has the skills, experience, and vision to lead our city’s recovery from COVID-19. At City Hall, I have no doubt that he will fight to build a city for everyone. With enthusiasm, I endorse Scott Stringer for mayor.”

Comptroller Scott Stringer said: “Diana Ayala is the definition of public service. She gives it her all to give back to the communities she serves–and she delivers. She’s a powerful voice against gun violence and she’s fighting for a future of better schools, not bigger jails. With Council Member Ayala by our side, we’re continuing to build a citywide coalition to win this race. I’m proud to have her support and friendship in our campaign to bring leadership back to City Hall and build a city for everyone.”
