BALTIMORE – Today, Congressman Kweisi Mfume (MD-07) issued the following statement regarding the passing of Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (TX-18).  

“I am very much saddened by the loss of Sheila Jackson Lee, a friend and colleague of 30 years. Her unyielding zest for justice and fair play could never be suppressed. She worked so hard for what she believed in and made all of us around her work just as hard. I will miss my buddy, who refused to let the world silence her voice,” said Congressman Mfume.
