VP Records is excited to announce a special live performance by the legendary Channel One Sound System today, Tuesday, November 19th, from 5 to 6 PM EST, at the VP Records retail store located at 170-19 Jamaica Avenue, Jamaica, NY. The event will also be live streamed on the VP Records YouTube channel, allowing fans worldwide to tune in.
Currently on tour in the U.S. and Canada (November 15–23), Channel One is celebrating 45 years of promoting positive roots, rock reggae, and dub. A cornerstone of the UK sound system culture, Channel One has become a staple at major events like Notting Hill Carnival. Their influence and legacy were recently cemented with the release of their critically acclaimed collaborative LP, Down In The Dub Vaults (2023), with Greensleeves Records.
Renowned for spinning deep cuts from reggae legends such as Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs, and Johnny Osbourne, Channel One’s custom-built, handmade sound system has captivated audiences across the UK and Europe. Now, they bring their distinctive sound to North America, spreading the rich traditions of reggae music even further.
