The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) says it notes with regret the death of the former Deputy Prime Minister of Grenada Mr. Elvin Nimrod, whom it described as a committed integrationist.
Mr. Nimrod, who also served as Minister for Foreign Affairs, International Trade, Legal Affairs, Labour, Local Government, Carriacou and Petite Martinique and Attorney General, died on 7 February in the United States.
“Mr Nimrod was a man of varied experience and a committed integrationist who brought these qualities to bear through his active participation in the various Ministerial Councils of the Community during his tenure in the Cabinet of Grenada,” CARICOM Secretary-General Ambassador Irwin LaRocque said in a message to Prime Minister Dr. Keith Mitchell of Grenada.
“The Community extends its condolences to the family of Mr. Nimrod and to the Government and People of Grenada on their loss,” the Secretary-General said.
