In a new book, the head of the Catholic Church said, “According to some experts, what is happening in Gaza has the characteristics of genocide.”

Just Sunday, Israel slaughtered at least 96 people in Gaza, including at least 30 children. More than 70 were killed in Beit Lahia. The far-right Netanyahu government has killed more than 43,000 people in Gaza, mostly women and children.

In a statement, CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad said:

“Religious and political leaders worldwide are calling Israel’s murderous campaign in Gaza what it is – genocide. The Biden administration continues to stand almost alone on the world stage in its blind support for this genocide and in turning a blind eye to the suffering and legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

“We welcome the principled stance of Pope Francis and urge his followers – including President Biden – to heed the call, take a stand and demand justice and accountability.

“While we welcome the Pope’s statement, there is no need to prove or investigate the obvious. Numerous UN and internationally-authoritative bodies concluded that Israel is committing a genocide. What is needed is action to stop that genocide.”

Saturday, CAIR condemned the inaction of “Genocide Joe” Biden as reports emerge from Gaza of dogs feeding on corpses, a prominent Palestinian doctor tortured to death in an Israeli prison, the killing of a Palestinian journalist in an Israeli drone attack, the Israeli burning of a Gaza school storing aid supplies, an Israeli massacre at a school in Gaza, illegal Israeli settler attacks on Palestinian homes, and Israeli field executions in northern Gaza.
