The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) Wednesday condemned former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley for a publicity stunt in which she inscribed a violent message on an Israeli artillery shell the day after Israel murdered 45 refugees – mostly women and children – sheltering in tents in the southern city of Rafah, Gaza.

In a statement, CAIR Director of Government Affairs Robert S. McCaw said:

“Only a genocidal anti-Palestinian racist could sign ‘finish them’ on the same type of artillery shells that the Israeli government has used to slaughter innocent Palestinians for months, including dozens of women and children burned to death in the horrific May 26th attack.

Nikki’s Haley’s grotesque display of support for Israel’s genocide follows her previous call for Palestinian refugees to be ethnically cleansed from their land and forced into neighboring countries. By championing U.S. complicity in Israel’s genocide of Palestinians following a tour of illegal Israeli settlements, Haley marks herself as a shameless advocate for occupation and genocide.

“No one should take Nikki Haley or other genocidal American politicians seriously in the future.”

Haley autographed a shell after touring illegally-occupied West Bank settlements. The Independent reports that she signed the shell during a Memorial Day visit to the Israeli military near the Lebanon border.

In December, Haley told ABC News that Palestinian refugees fleeing Israel’s military assault on Gaza should go to Egypt or other “pro-Hamas countries,” asserting it hard to tell which refugees are “terrorists.”

Following Israel’s slaughter of more than 36,000 Palestinians in Gaza, mostly women and children, and the forced displacement of two million Palestinians, Haley asserted: “America needs to do whatever Israel needs and stop telling them how to fight this war. You are either a friend or not a friend.

During her visit to Israel this week, Haley criticized the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the International Court of Justice (ICJ). The ICC prosecutor is pursuing arrest warrants Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on war crimes charges, while the ICJ has ordered Israeli stop its attack on Rafah.

Yesterday, CAIR condemned yet another Israel-U.S. massacre of Palestinian civilians in a so-called “safe zone” in Gaza, saying it further exposes the Israeli government’s “genocidal brutality” and the Biden administration’s complicity.

On Sunday, CAIR condemned the massacre of at least 45 Palestinian civilians in an Israeli airstrike on Rafah in Gaza that hit tents for displaced people. Horrific videos posted online show bodies burned to a crisp and a beheaded babyWARNING: Graphic content.

On Friday, CAIR applauded a ruling by the UN’s International Court of Justice (ICJ) in the Hague ordering Israel to halt its attacks on Rafah in Gaza.

Earlier this year, CAIR expressed its support for South Africa’s request to the ICJ to adopt emergency measures to protect Palestinian civilians after the Israeli attack on Rafah and its threats of depopulation and further attack on the city.

In December of last year, CAIR welcomed the launch of a case by South Africa in the United Nations’ top court accusing Israel of genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.

This week, CAIR welcomed the recognition of the state of Palestine by Norway, Ireland and Spain, and called on the Biden administration to stop blocking that nation’s full United Nations membership.
