The vibrant spirit of Brownsville, Brooklyn is set to shine brighter than ever as the community prepares for Brownsville Week 2025, a week-long celebration that promises to bring together residents, families, and visitors for an unforgettable showcase of music, culture, and community pride.

Running from July 19th through July 26th, this year’s festivities are proudly presented by The Old Timer’s Committee, The Freeman Foundation for the Arts, and The Reality C.H.E.K. Foundation, three organizations deeply committed to celebrating and uplifting the historic Brooklyn neighborhood.
A Week of Featured Events
The celebration kicks off with the beloved Old Timer’s Parade on Saturday, July 19th at 12 PM, beginning at Pitkin Avenue (Zion Square) and culminating at the BRC with music, unity, and a community BBQ. This cherished tradition honors the longtime residents who have been the backbone of Brownsville’s resilience and growth.
Music lovers won’t want to miss Jazz Night in the Park on Tuesday, July 22nd at 6 PM at BRC Park, featuring live performances and a community gathering that celebrates the rich musical heritage of the neighborhood.
The week continues with Youth Day on Wednesday, July 23rd from 10 AM to 5 PM at BRC Field, offering activities and fun specifically designed for young community members. This event recognizes the importance of engaging and celebrating Brownsville’s next generation.
Fashion takes center stage at the Old-Timers Fashion Show on Thursday, July 24th at 6 PM at BRC Playground. Community members can register now by calling (718) 345-2706 to participate in this stylish celebration.
The festivities continue with the Old-Timers Reunion Night on Friday, July 25th at 4 PM (with showtime at 5 PM) at the Brownsville Recreation Center on Linden Boulevard and Mother Gaston Boulevard, bringing together longtime residents for an evening of nostalgia and connection.
The week concludes with Old-Timers Day on Saturday, July 26th at 12 PM (with showtime at 5 PM) at the Brownsville Recreation Center on Linden Boulevard and Mother Gaston Boulevard, serving as a grand finale to the community celebration.
