Black homeowners, families, legal advocates, and community leaders will rally and hold a press conference outside the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office demanding immediate justice for the victims of one of the largest deed theft schemes in New York City history.

“We Will NOT Have Another Tulsa — Not in Brooklyn”
BROOKLYN, NY — July 9, 2025 at 12:00 PM
WHERE: Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office – 350 Jay Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201
Sanford Solny stole over 240 homes — primarily from Black and immigrant homeowners in Brooklyn. On June 26th, 2025 Solny’s legal team appeared in court to contest the order and we are exposing this backdoor scheme. Although only 11 families were promised justice, Solny’s legal team is now trying to “block” the return of even those few properties.
🚨 Solny is scheduled to be sentenced on September 17, 2025, on that “day” Judge Danny K. Chun is expected to sign the order returning the Deeds to their rightful owners.
“Stop stalling. Return our deeds to us — plus damages. We are fed up with the disrespect and second-class citizen treatment. We will NOT stand by and allow another Tulsa to happen in Brooklyn.”
– Black Homeowners Preservation Coalition
This rally calls on:
✅ DA Eric Gonzalez to stand with all victims, not just a few
✅ Judge Danny K. Chun to honor his ruling and sign the restitution order returning Titles to the victims
✅ DA Gonzalez to stop the delay and meet with Black Homeowners Preservation Coalition and Attorney S. Felix Ngati
“Deed theft is a crime against humanity! And all those who commit deed theft should be arrested, punished, and thrown under the jail. End deed theft now!”
— The Honorable Charles Barron
“Attorney’s were overheard stating courts have become the new trading grounds for Black generational wealth.”
— Ray Cortez, Community Advocate BHPC
