Brooklyn, NYThe holiday spirit was on full display as Brooklyn community leader Muhammad A. Nur led the 2025 Annual Turkey Giveaway, an event that brought warmth, food, and community pride to families across the borough. Hosted through The Freeman Foundation for the Arts and the Realty C.H.E.K. Foundation, the giveaway has grown into a highly anticipated tradition for local residents.

Hundreds gathered to receive turkeys and share in the joy of the season as Nur and a dedicated team of volunteers worked tirelessly to ensure every household left with support and encouragement.

This year’s event received a strong boost from community partners and local leaders. Assemblywoman Latrice Walker and Assemblywoman Nikki Lucas greeted constituents and helped distribute meals. Community advocate DeCosta Headley also played a key role in making the event a success.

The event’s major sponsor was Attorney Nick Liakas and Liakas Law, whose generous support significantly strengthened this year’s efforts and helped expand the reach of the giveaway.

Nur expressed gratitude to all who contributed: “Thank you to everyone who joined our 2025 Annual Turkey Giveaway! Your support helps us continue serving families throughout the holiday season.”

With Thanksgiving celebrations complete, preparations are already underway for the foundations’ next major community initiative — a festive Toy Giveaway that promises to bring holiday cheer to children across Brooklyn.

“Warm holiday wishes to all,” Nur added, as volunteers packed up the final boxes and families headed home with full hearts.
