Photos: Bronx Documentary Center
Foto Féminas: 10-Year Anniversary is an exhibition that celebrates a decade of Foto Féminas, the platform founded by Verónica Sanchis Bencomo to promote the work of Latin American and Caribbean women and non-binary photographers.
Featuring multiple artists from the Foto Féminas’ community, the show highlights diverse voices and visual narratives; the exhibition also includes a reading library of publications.
Foto Féminas is a platform established with the interest in promoting through monthly online features the work of female photographers working in Latin America and the Caribbean. Since 2015, Foto Féminas has organized and produced photo exhibitions in Argentina, China, Guatemala, Peru, Chile and Mexico. In 2016, it launched the Foto Féminas Library, a growing collection of photobooks that celebrates and preserves the region’s voices. This mobile library has been presented at art institutions and festivals in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Miami, and New York.
