A man was arrested by the police early Sunday morning after police from the 83rd Precinct responded to a 9-11 assault call.
A police spokesperson reported that NYPD officers found a 41-year-old woman on the kitchen floor of her apartment, suffering from multiple stab wounds. EMS responded to the scene and rushed the victim to Brookdale Hospital, where she died from her injuries.
The incident occurred at an apartment building near Cooper Street and Irving Avenue in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn.
An eyewitness at the scene told reporters she heard screams coming from the apartment where the victim lived with her boyfriend.
The police took the victim’s boyfriend into custody at the scene, pending charges.
The investigation remains ongoing.
